The BKR Kitchen Dance Party takes its inspiration from Alan Lomax’s hootenannies of the 1940s which used radio to unite listeners across America. Lomax recorded live music from the American song book as well as contemporary music. In a similar way BKR is inviting Bristol musicians to play acoustic music for singing, dancing and entertainment for its listeners across the world.
BKR will present a varied programme featuring traditional music with simple called dances, jazz, improvisation and a grand finale. Live acoustic music will be directed by BKR resident musicians Paul Bradley (Three Cane Whale, Organelles), Pete Judge (Three Cane Whale, Get The Blessing) and Alex Vann, (Three Cane Whale, Spiro).
